Pricing for a Baby Nurse or Doula Depends On

Finding the Right Support for Your Growing Family

Welcoming a newborn is a beautiful yet demanding time, and having the right support can make all the difference. The cost of hiring a baby nurse (newborn care specialist) or postpartum doula varies based on several key factors, ensuring that each family receives the personalized care they need.

Factors That Influence Pricing:

Experience & Qualifications

  • Highly trained and certified baby nurses or doulas command higher rates due to their expertise in newborn care, lactation support, and sleep conditioning.

Location & Cost of Living

  • Major cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Miami tend to have higher rates compared to smaller towns and rural areas.

Shift Length & Frequency

  • Overnight care (9-12 hours) is priced differently than daytime shifts (4-8 hours).
  • 24-hour live-in care includes around-the-clock newborn support.

Number of Babies

  • Twins and multiples require extra hands-on care, leading to a higher rate per shift.

Additional Services

  • Sleep training, lactation support, and postpartum recovery assistance may have separate pricing
  • Β Twins/Multiples: Additional $5 – $10/hr
